A Conversation About Phones and Parenting
John Legend recently sat down with his 8-year-old daughter Luna to talk about his latest release, My Favorite Dream. Before diving into the music, they had a lighthearted conversation about phones and social media. “Lately we’ve been getting some good advice on phones and social media,” John told his daughter. “And how dangerous they are and how we’re not going to let you have a smartphone till’ you’re like 16 years old. What do you think of that advice?”
Finding a Compromise
“How about we…” she said, before her dad interjected with “Compromise?” How about we compromise on 9? Luna added, prompting her dad to burst out laughing.
A Love for Family
Elsewhere during the interview, as Luna and Legend chatted about his children’s album — which was released in August — the musician also revealed what he loves “most” about his family. So many things,” he told his eldest daughter. “I think it’s the most pure love you can have, is the love you have for your family.”
Pouring Love and Lessons into Luna
“It’s so pure and when me and mommy look at you, and look at your brothers and sister, we see ourselves. And we want to pour all this knowledge and all these lessons we’ve learned in life into you and help you become the best adults you can be. And that’s the best thing about parenting.
