FC Barcelona Unearths ‘New Lamine Yamal’ With 100 Goals In 27 Games
FC Barcelona has unearthed a young talent that the Spanish media has dubbed the “new Lamine Yamal”. This prodigious youngster is currently scoring goals for fun in La Masia, leaving everyone in awe of his incredible skills.
The Rise of Destiny Kosiso Ejiofor John
It seems preposterous to even talk about a “new” version of a figure that we often forget is just 17 years old in Lamine. Handed his debut as a 15-year-old under Xavi Hernandez when making an impressive cameo against Real Betis in the spring of 2023, the Spain international has smashed a number of youngest goalscorer and appearance records in various competitions for club and country.
A Bright Future Ahead
Last summer, at the time a photo of Lionel Messi blessing him at barely six months old resurfaced and went viral. Lamine lifted the Euros with La Roja in Germany ahead of being handed the Golden Boy gong by Tutto Sport and the Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony. Starting to be dubbed the best player in the world by many in light of his recent performances and role in a 5-2 Copa del Rey thrashing of Real Betis midweek, Lamine is being tipped to win France Football’s most coveted male player award at the end of the year.
Meet the New Prodigy
Until then, there is buzz surrounding a 2014-born goalscoring talent in La Masia, who is being dubbed the next Lamine-esque prodigy to follow in the winger’s footsteps. Currently playing in the U-12s, Destiny Kosiso Ejiofor John operates as a striker or in midfield, and has jumped up an age category this term after netting 100 goals in 27 games in 2023/2024 for the U-10s.
Impressive Stats
This season, he has still netted an impressive 31 goals in 14 outings, at an average of 2.2 goals per appearance, despite being younger than most of his teammates and adversaries. He forms part of an unbeaten Barca youth team, which tops the league in the Catalan Federation with an eight-point advantage and near 100% record sullied by just a single draw.
A Family Affair
He also has two brothers currently starring for the Barca academy elsewhere. So far, however, all the signs point to it being John’s Destiny to fulfil his dreams.
