Buc-ee’s, the popular Texas-based gas station chain, is taking a North Texas competitor to court over alleged logo infringement.
Buc-ee’s Sues North Texas Gas Station Chain Over Logo Similarity
Buc-ee’s, a popular gas station chain based in Texas, has filed a lawsuit against Super Fuels, a smaller North Texas gas station chain. Buc-ee’s claims that Super Fuels’ logo is too similar to its own beaver logo.
The Lawsuit
According to the lawsuit, Super Fuels’ logo features an anthropomorphic and cartoon representation of a smiling animal that closely resembles a beaver. The logo is positioned in a right-facing angle and depicted in front of a circular background. Buc-ee’s claims that this similarity could confuse customers and lead to a loss in sales.

The Claim
Buc-ee’s alleges that Super Fuels is infringing on its copyright by using a logo that is too similar to the Buc-ee’s beaver logo. The lawsuit calls for a permanent injunction to stop Super Fuels from using the dog logo, as well as payment for any “ill-gotten gains” and the destruction of all signs, packages, and other materials with the logo.
