Network Rail Scotland Reports Extensive Damage
Network Rail Scotland has reported nearly 400 incidents of damage, including over 120 reports of fallen trees, following Storm Eowyn. The railway operator is working to reopen Scotland’s railway, but disruption is likely until at least midday.

Recovery Efforts Underway
Utility company Uisce Eireann has reported that around 138,000 people had no water as of Friday evening, with a further 750,000 people’s supplies at risk. The focus will turn to the clean-up effort as weather warnings lift, freeing workers to reconnect power supplies and clear debris.
Transport Disruptions Continue
Police Scotland responded to nearly 1,900 weather-related incidents linked to Storm Eowyn on Friday. The M80 remains closed in both directions between junction 8 and 9 due to an electrical pole fire, while the M74 northbound is closed at junction 12 due to a crash.

Irish premier Micheál Martin has thanked emergency crews and responders working to restore power and clear roads.
