Honoring the sacrifices of Vietnam veterans, the Burkburnett Knights of Columbus host a commemoration ceremony to recognize their service and dedication to the country.
The sacrifices made by Vietnam veterans are still remembered and honored today, even though Vietnam Veterans Day is celebrated on March 29th. However, their service and dedication to the country deserve recognition at any time.
To commemorate these brave individuals, the Vietnam Commemoration Program has been hosting ceremonies across the nation. On Saturday, a ceremony was held at Saint Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Burkburnett, where ‘I still have the same excitement for the program as I did when I first started,’ she said. ‘And welcoming home the Vietnam era veteran did not happen like it should have happened, and it’s about time we welcomed them home.’ – Diana Mason from the Department of Defense honored veterans from all military branches who served in Vietnam.

The Vietnam Commemoration Program is a national initiative to honor the service and sacrifice of American veterans who served in 'Vietnam.'
Established by Congress, the program aims to promote healing, reconciliation, and remembrance among those affected by the war.
The program includes various events, exhibitions, and educational programs to raise awareness about the conflict's impact on veterans, their families, and Vietnamese civilians.
Mason is a long-time partner of the program and continues to take pride in recognizing fellow veterans. The Vietnam War Commemoration Program, established in 2012 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, has played a significant role in honoring over 1 million veterans nationwide. This program is dedicated to recognizing the sacrifices made by these individuals and their families.
Through events like the one held at Saint Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, the Vietnam Commemoration Program continues to bring attention to the important contributions of Vietnam veterans. By acknowledging their service, we can work towards creating a more welcoming environment for those who have served our country.
