In a hilarious turn of events, Elon Musk took on a diabolical role in his SNL return, played by Mike Myers, who channeled his iconic Dr. Evil character from the Austin Powers franchise.
Mike Myers Channels Dr. Evil as Elon Musk in SNL Return
The latest episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL) saw Mike Myers reprise his role as Elon Musk, with a special nod to one of his most iconic film characters.
Elon Musk is a South African-born entrepreneur and business magnate.
He is the CEO of SpaceX, a private space exploration company, and Tesla, Inc., an electric vehicle manufacturer.
Musk has also co-founded other companies such as Neuralink and The Boring Company.
He has been involved in various high-profile ventures, including the development of reusable rockets and solar energy systems.
During the March 8 episode, which was hosted by ‘Lady Gaga‘ , Myers reprised his parody of the Tesla CEO during the show’s Cold Open. The sketch poked fun at the reported clash between Musk and ‘Marco Rubio,’ among others, that took place at the White House recently.
In the bit, President ‘Donald Trump‘ (played by ‘James Austin Johnson’ ) mediates tension between ‘Rubio’ (played by ‘Marcello Hernandez’ ) and ‘Myers’ Musk_. At one point, ‘Hernandez’s Rubio’ told ‘Johnson’s Trump’: ‘While Elon’s been causing chaos, I’ve been working behind the scenes and I am very close to a deal with the Panamanian government to retake the Panama Canal.’ To which he replies, ‘Eh, I don’t want it anymore. You know, (it) seems like a hassle. What I really love is Thailand. Okay? Because I’ve been watching ‘White Lotus‘ and it looks beautiful.‘

As ‘Rubio’ responds, the sketch imagines ‘Trump’s’ inner monologue in which he thinks: ‘Ah, so boring. This guy can’t stop talking.‘ ‘I’m thinking something and not saying it out loud, ‘ he continues. ‘Whoa. This is a whole new thing. This is crazy. This can save me a lot of trouble. I should do this more often. I won’t, but I should.‘
The sketch also imagines ‘Musk’s’ thoughts, with Myers’ bringing his pinky to his mouth at the end of one line, mimicking an infamous move made by his iconic Dr. Evil character from the Austin Powers franchise.
**Myers’ Musk thinks:_ ‘Was taking this job a bad idea? A lot of people seem to really hate me. My Tesla stock is crashing and my personal net worth just dropped by $100 billion dollars.’
The episode also included mentions of moments that took place when ‘Trump’ spoke to Congress on March 4, where he boasted of his administration’s accomplishments in his first days of office.
SNL’s Milestone 50th Season
Saturday Night Live is currently in the midst of its milestone 50th season, which was celebrated with a star-studded special last month.
