The production opened on Broadway on March 19, 2025, and features a world-class Afro-Cuban band joined by a sensational cast in an unforgettable tale of survival, second chances, and the extraordinary power of music.
The Buena Vista Social Club was a collective of Cuban musicians formed in the 1990s.
The group's music, a blend of traditional son and rumba styles, gained international recognition after the release of their self-titled album in 1997.
Produced by Ry Cooder, the album featured artists such as Ibrahim Ferrer, Omara Portuondo, and Rubén González.
The Buena Vista Social Club's music revival helped popularize Cuban rhythms worldwide, earning them a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Tropical Latin Album.
The choreography for the musical is led by Patricia Delgado and Tony Award winner Justin Peck, who also did the choreography for Steven Spielberg’s 2021 theater adaptation of the film West Side Story.
