Bianca Castro-Arabejo, known professionally as Jiggly Caliente, has left an indelible mark on the world of drag and entertainment. The Filipino-American performer, who found fame on the fourth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, has passed away at the age of 44, leaving behind a legacy of infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity.
A Career Defined by Authenticity
Caliente’s journey to stardom began when she appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2012. Her sense of humour and memorable interactions with other queens quickly made her a fan favourite. The show’s catchphrase, coined by fellow contestant ‘this is not RuPaul’s Best Friend Race’ during an argument with Caliente, has been frequently repeated in later series.
Beyond her time on the show, Caliente went on to pursue an acting career, appearing in episodes of sitcoms Broad City and Search Party. She played the role of Veronica in the TV drama Pose, which chronicled New York’s LGBT ball culture in the 1980s and 90s. Her portrayal was a testament to her dedication to showcasing authentic stories and characters.
A Champion for Trans Rights

Caliente publicly came out as transgender in 2016, using her platform to advocate for trans rights and visibility. She later returned to the Drag Race universe, competing in the sixth series of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars in 2021 and judging the spin-off show Drag Race Philippines for three series.
