The Arctic League Achieves Longest Consecutive Closure of Beloved Reading Program
Arctic League Announces Closure of the Big Book; Meets Goal for 22 Consecutive Years
The Arctic League’s annual Christmas Campaign has come to a close, with the final donation being made on Friday, December 20. The campaign, which aims to bring joy to thousands in Chemung County, has met its goal for the 22nd consecutive year.
A Record-Breaking Donation
This year’s campaign saw a record-breaking donation from the Elmira Police Department’s Police Benevolent Association (PBA). Officers from the EPD PBA presented the Arctic League with a check for $2,500, which is the largest contribution ever received from the PBA. This donation not only met but exceeded the campaign’s goal of $175,000.
A Tradition of Giving
The PBA’s annual donation to the Arctic League has been a tradition for many years. Every year, the PBA makes it a point to be the last signature in the ‘Big Book,’ which is a record of all donations made during the campaign. This year was no exception, with the PBA delivering the final donation and capping off another successful year for the Arctic League.
The 2024 Christman Campaign
The 2024 Christmas Campaign has been a resounding success, raising a total of $189,767.64 or 108.43% of its goal. The Arctic League is grateful for the outpouring of support from the community and is excited to start planning for next year’s campaign.
Volunteers Needed
The Arctic League is still in need of volunteers to help deliver packages to families around the county on Christmas Eve Day. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Arctic League at [insert contact information].
A Season of Giving
The Arctic League would like to extend its gratitude to all donors and supporters who made this year’s campaign a success. Your generosity will bring joy and happiness to thousands of families in Chemung County during the holiday season.
