Get ready for a weather shift this Thursday as cloudy skies give way to mild afternoon temperatures, but don’t expect the cold front to let go without a fight.
Thursday Outlook: A Shift in Weather Conditions
The Arctic cold front that has been dominating our region for a while is expected to continue its grip tonight, bringing temperatures down into the teens and even single digits for most areas.
Fortunately, we won’t have to contend with strong winds, making it slightly more bearable. However, drivers and pedestrians should still be cautious of possible slick spots on roads and sidewalks that may not have fully dried up.
A Turning Point in Weather Trends
As a dry cold front approaches, Thursday will bring an increase in cloud cover. But the good news is that temperatures will start to rise out of their frozen state, reaching closer to 40 degrees by the afternoon. This moderating trend is expected to continue through the weekend and into next week.
By Sunday, highs are forecasted to return to around 50 degrees. While we may see a slight cool-down on Monday with some rain moving in, our region will likely be back to warmer temperatures by the middle of next week, potentially even reaching the 60s.
Tonight’s Forecast
Mostly clear skies and frigid conditions are expected tonight, with lows dipping down to around 16 degrees.
Thursday’s Outlook
More clouds will dominate the sky on Thursday, but high temperatures will reach a relatively warmer 38 degrees.
