Canadian grandmother breaks world record for most pushups in an hour, achieving 1,575 pushups with her grandchildren present and following Guinness World Records guidelines.
Donna Jean Wilde, a 59-year-old grandmother of 12 from Canada, has achieved a remarkable feat by breaking the world record for the most pushups in one hour by a female. She successfully completed an astonishing 1,575 pushups within the given time frame.
The Journey to the Record
Wilde’s journey to this achievement began earlier this year when she set her mind on breaking the record after achieving another world record – longest plank held by a woman. To prepare for the challenge, she started doing pushups every day, gradually increasing her endurance and speed. Her daily routine involved trying to do 20 pushups per minute for 30 minutes, with the goal of eventually reaching 1,000 pushups in a short amount of time.
The Guinness World Records Process
To ensure the accuracy of her record, Wilde had to follow the guidelines set by Guinness World Records. She recorded herself doing the pushups and hired special witnesses to verify that there was a 90-degree bend in her elbow at the bottom of each pushup. The video was then sent to Guinness for review and verification.
The Record-Breaking Moment
Wilde’s grandchildren were present during the record-breaking attempt, counting down as she achieved her milestone. The moment was captured on video and published by Guinness World Records. Wilde’s best advice on doing a perfect pushup is to visualize it and then do it.
